Data protection registration
AceLearn Services is registered with the NDPC as a Data Controller/Processor under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023.

International data transfers
Some of the service providers we rely on to run NaraCheck (such as cloud hosting and infrastructure) operate outside Nigeria. Where your data is processed outside the country, we take reasonable steps to ensure it's handled with an appropriate level of protection, consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
What we collect depends on how you use NaraCheck:
- Everyone with an account (Buyers, Sellers, Area Partners): phone number (used as your login ID), a 6-digit PIN, and optionally your name.
- Sellers: business/shop name, category, state and town, a detailed address, optional photos of your shop or products, and — if you sell in multiple categories — those additional categories.
- Area Partners: name, phone number, and the territory you cover.
- Buyers: a search-credit balance and your recharge/spending history.
- Payments: when you recharge search credit or pay a seller subscription, our payment processor (Korapay) handles your card/transfer details directly — we never see or store your card number or bank credentials. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and a reference number.
- Negotiation messages: when a buyer and seller discuss a listed price inside the app, we store that conversation — including any photos sent — so both sides can see the message history.
- Support requests: if you contact us for help (for example, a PIN reset) via WhatsApp, that conversation happens on WhatsApp itself, outside NaraCheck's systems.
Your PIN, specifically
Your 6-digit PIN is never stored as plain text. It's cryptographically hashed and salted before it touches our database, and it's locked away even from our own general-purpose systems — only a secure server-side process can verify it during login. Too many wrong attempts will temporarily lock your account to protect it.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, and let you log in on any device using your phone number and PIN.
- To show buyers real, verified prices and connect them with sellers.
- To let Area Partners verify seller addresses in their territory.
- To process and confirm payments, and apply the correct search credit or subscription time.
- To contact you about your account, listings, or a payment — by WhatsApp, phone, or email.
- With your separate consent, to send occasional updates or promotions.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Address verification & Area Partners
If you register as a Seller, the address you provide is reviewed by an Area Partner in your territory before your listing goes live. Area Partners are independent contractors, not NaraCheck employees, and take on personal responsibility for the addresses they approve — this is disclosed to them directly when they register.
Photos sent in negotiation chats
If you're a Seller and you send a photo while replying to a buyer's question in a negotiation chat, that photo may also be added to your public listing's photo gallery, visible to other buyers browsing that listing. If you'd rather a photo stay private to that conversation, don't attach it to a negotiation message — or contact us afterward and we'll remove it from the public listing.
Who we share data with
- Korapay — our payment processor, to process recharges and subscription payments.
- Supabase — our database and backend infrastructure provider, which stores account and listing data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality.
- We may disclose information if required by Nigerian law, a court order, or to investigate fraud, listing of counterfeit/banned goods, or abuse of the platform.
We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us to:
- Show you what personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated personal data, subject to any legal or accounting records we're required to keep
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time
To exercise any of these, message us on WhatsApp or email acelearnservices@gmail.com.
Data retention
We keep account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations. Seller listing photos and address details are removed if a listing is taken down and not reinstated.
Children
NaraCheck is not directed at children. Our services involve financial transactions and business listings, and are intended for users who are at least 18 years old.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users.
